HEY EVERYONE!!!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, I know I did. Campus ministry left Friday at 6 to go on our campus wide fall retreat. It started off fabulous, because we got to use the new UIW charter bus! Talk about nice!! When we got there we started off the night with some great talks, and then we ended in silence. Not just end in silence, but we stayed in silence until the next morning. It was so interesting! It's funny how we rarely take a minute to just quiet ourselves. Plus, even if we wanted to, other noise would distract us. Not that night! It was so nice! The best sleep I have had in FOREVER!! (Of course we were out in the hill country so that added to it as well!)
Saturday we heard some more inspiring talks followed by a few hours of free time. SO much fun! A bunch of us jumped into the river, and Mara actually led a Zumba class. Zumba outdoors was a blast! Plus it was a bunch of people who had never done it before. Then later that night we had an awesome prayer service. The theme of this retreat was "Who Am I?" We did a lot of evaluating of ourselves and figuring out our place in the world.
Sunday ended with Laura and Art and Mara basically inspiring all of us to go out there and change the world! I just got so much out of the weekend! I was totally elated! Of course we had to come back to the real world, but I feel like I really grew this weekend! You should def join us for our fall retreat sometime!! :)
