My Oh My!

My oh my, what a busy semester it has been! I can't believe it's already March! This semester has definitely been one of my busiest ones, yet it has gone by ridiculously fast.

Good news, I got an A on a really hard World Lit. paper that I had been stressing about for awhile, woo wee what a relief!

Not so good news: I have three exams this week! ahhh! Oh well, thank god I've been studying way in advance and am ready for them:)

I've been thinking that I really want to study abroad in London...one of my best friends who is in fashion is actually over there right now and lovesss it: But we'll see!

In other news, I think I really am going to take advantage of the masters program my track in Communication Arts offers [Media Studies] A 5 year plan=Masters

I think I'd be a fool not to take advantage of such a good opportunity!

Until next time,

Magda

P.S. UIW men's basketball game last weekend against St. Mary's was amazzzzzinggg!!! :) woo go cardinals!

New Semester!

Hello All!

Sorry it's been such a long time since I've last written. But! It's the start to a new semester, and I couldn't be more excited! This semester, I am taking seventeen hours, am still working in the Office of Admissions and am now Sprit Chair in my sorority:)

Some highlights of my semester so far:

-UIW vs. St. Mary's women and men's game last Monday, fun times! Even though we lost :(

-Starting my new classes and meeting my new professors! So far, my favorite class is definitely Writing for the Media; a class that is required for major. (Communication Arts)

Well, until next time!

Hello Again!

Well this past week was busy, yet fun-filled! The workload was intense, but the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the week was the best payoff. :) In addition to a full week, I was also involved in two school events on the weekend; Our 21st annual Golden Harvest and our overnighter. Both were so fun and interesting!

Golden Harvest is an awesome event in which we collect canned goods and non-perishable items from neighborhoods around the area. Various  student organizations from UIW participate in an effort to see who can earn the most goods. While we were competing against one another in a sense,  we were still working towards a common goal as a whole.  The experience was great and I loved the idea of working together to give back.

Our overnighter was a great success and so much fun! It was actually our first one this semester and the response was great! The high school students that attended were so involved and seemed to really have enjoyed themselves.  I feel very fortunate to be a student ambassador, because I get to meet so many new people who are all interested in attending UIW; which I love! Working in the office of admissions really enabled me to be even more involved with helping out with the overnighter, which was awesome.

Anyways, time to get back to work!

....And Fall Break is Finally Here :)

Hello All! I do apologize for not blogging sooner, but I hope everyone is doing well :)

Well, here I am in my second year here at UIW, and I not surprised to say that I still absolutely love it here! This year has been slightly different than last year, but still very much the same. To start off, I live on campus this year! I moved into the new dorms at Hillside, and loooove it there:) Living on campus has enabled me to be so much more involved with school activities and my classes as well. While living on campus may not be for everyone, I feel that it is a perfect match for me and the busy schedule I wanted to tackle this semester.

I joined a sorority that I absoluteoly adore! I am proud to say that I am a new member of Alpha Sigma Alpha :) The girls are amazing and I am very much looking forward to everything with ASA:)

I am also a UIW Student Ambassador, I really love it and the group is awesome. I really like being so closely involved with the school itself and all of the events as well.

Most importantly, I still hold a work-study position in the Office of Admissions and am still very happy here. Everyone that works here is awesome and such a joy to work with, they really make work fun:)

LASTLY! My classes! They are going great and I have such excellent teachers as always. I'll admit, the work load may be a bit overwhelming at times, but I certaintly have and will not lose sight of my ambition.  I think my favorite class this sesmeter is piano:) It's such a great stress-reliever!

Anyways, enough of me! To everyone that reads this, I hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend!

Well it's the end to another jammed packed yet productive week here at UIW, and I am looking forward to the weekend! This week flew by and was definetly a productive week. I've been practicing for piano so much and have really improved just in my two hours of practicing this morning. All my other classes are going great and I look forward to summer school classes and a summer job as well. Time spent here at the University is not only time well spent, but undoubtedly very productive as well. Until next time!

Hello Again!

I know it's been awhile since I've last written, school and such has really been keeping me swamped!

This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to participate in our Overnighter Program. This program enables prespective students to stay a night here on campus with a student in their dorm and attend class with them as well. This program really allows the prespective student to get a feel of college life and how it really is. I personally do not live on campus, however I was lucky enough to move into a dorm for one evening and host two presepctive students. The students that were assigned to me were so enthusiastic and so so sweet. What was even more awesome about them is that they are inerested in our Music Therapy program here. Being that I'm a Music major myself, I thought that was pretty cool, and found it really easy to relate to them. The program was jam packed with events back to back for all of us to participate in, from icebreakers to scavenger hunts. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the University's Admissions Office,  the event was a great success.

This week should be pretty busy, with work and two papers due this week as well. Until next time!

T.G.I.F.

Hello All!

Well, it's finally Friday..and this week has seemed longer than usual..I think it's the combination of staying up late studying and long days that has really gotten me. Classes are going well, and surprisingly enough, I only had one mid-term this week and it wasn't too bad at all, so that's a plus. My grades are good, and I was so excited to find out that I got a B on that Philosophy test I mentioned in my last blog :) Goes to show that hard work, and five page typed out reviews do pay off hah...So next week is Spring Beak! I'm so excited for this much needed break! Some friends from school and I will be going to South Padre ..so that should be fun! :) Well I must be on my way, time for work in the fabulous...Office of Admissions ;)

Hello Again!

So,  I haven't been able to write in awhile...school has been crazy! However, I was fortunate enough to travel to Harlingen, Texas last friday with Admissions. The trip was so much fun, and the reception was a great success! The room was  packed with inquiring parents and prospective students, all with such positive feedback. Traveling to Harlingen with Admissions really opened my eyes to the fact of how much I really like doing this kind of stuff...Hopefully it won't be the last time! Other than that, this whole week I have been studying so much for a Philosophy test that I actually took this morning, and to be quite honest, I totally nailed it. (Hopefully haha) One of the many things I like about that class in particular, is how incredibly thorough my teacher is. She makes sure that she doesn't miss a thing, and that everyone is on the same page. Teachers like that here at the University are not an uncommon sight; one of the many reasons why I find it so fulfilling and easy to learn at this fine institution.

And finally, Spring Break is fastly approaching yet with so much to do in the meantime! Mid-Term next week, practice piano everyday to prepare for seminar, stay caught up with all my algebra, oh and can't forget about work in Admissions ;)

Until next time my friends..

February 20, 2007

Well, Hello!

So the semester has barely begun, yet I feel like I already have so much on my plate, in a good way that is. With practicing piano, homework and working in the UIW Office of Admissions, I definitely have enough to keep me busy! The first week in February is Rush week for Alpha Sigma Alpha and hopefully all will go well. I’m actually really looking forward to the whole thing, the girls seem really nice and welcoming…and today, I’m  having my interview today to be a Student Ambassador, it sounds pretty fun, I’ve already done a few of the duties of ambassadors (going to conventions and talking about UIW) and really liked it. With all this, I definitely have not lost sight of what I came to school here for;  music. The Music Industry program here at UIW is extremely thorough and is honestly the only thing I could see myself doing.  So far I really like it, and the teachers and people in the music department are always very quick to lend a helping hand with homework, piano, whatever it may be. Well, time to get to work, I’ll write again soon kids, bye!
