This week is INTENSE

I don't think that I have ever had so much homework in a week.  I am forgetting what it's like to sleep.  Test, papers, and ministry work is all I do.  This weekend is packed up too.  However, on a brighter note, I have started making some more close friends. :)  It has been really nice to find people who enjoy their faith and music the same as I do.  We tend to find ourself worshiping into the early hours of the morning.  It is the most in touch I have felt with God in a long time.  I am loving every bit of this heck tick life I am living.  I am just praying for a chance to breathe.

So its been a while...

It has been a crazy couple weeks.  I finally decided to get my act together and start studying for real.  A little late in the year, but at least it came right?  These last few days I have been back and forth between Austin, Waco, and here.  It has been an amazing time.  My best friend Trav and I went up to see a concert in Austin then drove back that night to go to class at 9 a.m. the next morning.  After that I hit the road again to Waco to meet up with some friends at Baylor and go to another concert.  I just got back in time to shower and then go to my last class of the week.  This weekend is crazy busy as well.  Gotta love college.

It's great to be back...

Spring break wasn't the best... just consisted of a bunch of things that I had to get done.  I find comfort in my dorm room though.  For some odd reason this small block of a room is filled with a sort of home feeling.  It a place to call my own, well sorta... I mean there is the roommate.  However, I bet you get my point.  I guess my outlook on life is changing.  I have learned so much this year... so much.  The biggest thing I think I have learned is to appreciate life.  Life is good.  Life is God.  God is life.  God is Love.  Love is God.  I have found myself really at a loss of words, so I wanted to leave you with probably one of the most cliche bible verses used in pretty much every wedding I have been to.  Cliche or not, it's amazing.

1 Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn't jealous. It doesn't sing its own praises. It isn't arrogant. 5 It isn't rude. It doesn't think about itself. It isn't irritable. It doesn't keep track of wrongs. 6 It isn't happy when injustice is done, but it is happy with the truth. 7 Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up.

UIW Here I Come...

The first spring break as a college student... Started off with a retreat, then surgery, then my dad's third marriage.  Hmmm... could have been better?  Yeah I am sure, but I loved it still the same.  The retreat was amazing and much needed to get through the rest of the week.  I am excited to get back to campus though.  I miss it.  I miss the people and just the independence.  For some odd reason, I even miss the classes.  The weirdest part is being home when all my friends have breaks at different times.  I'm not even sure we would all hang out.  Everyone seems to be growing in different ways.  It's cool cause people that I never expected to change... have.  I miss everyone, but at the same time I can't wait to keep growing.  Hope everyone has had or will have a great spring break!

They took my wisdom...

For everyone who said it would not be that bad... they lied.  This has been the worst pain I have ever experienced.  This morning I got my wisdom teeth removed.  You may think I'm just a baby, but this is sooo much pain.  I have no swelling... it's all gone, but the pain makes up for it.  However, this may be the worst day every, but this weekend was amazing.  We led a retreat for our parish back home in Dallas.  It was one of the most amazing experiences ever.  Maybe, just maybe, one of the times where I experienced God the strongest in a long time.  This has been such a up and down spring break so far... all I can say is... gotta love them pain killers.

TOMS

So today my best friend Travis put on a TOMS event.  TOMS are these insanely cool shoes that when you buy one, they donate one to a kid that doesn't have them somewhere.  CRAZY RIGHT?!  What I didn't know was that in some countries, if you don't have shoes you can't get educated.  I guess I don't realize how fortunate I am.  I am ALIVE and healthy.  These kids don't even have shoes.  I have had enough pairs of shoes to probably shoe a whole village in one life time.  That breaks my heart.  I am so proud of Travis for his standing in his beliefs.  He has been such a great blessing in my life and others around the world.  I mean he just put shoes on at least 30 kids feet that didn't have them before.

Test time...

I believe it is the professors goal, or really any teacher anywhere, to make the week before breaks the hardest.  Maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't such a procrastinator.  I know I should be more responsible, but it's college.  I believe I deserve to slack off every once and a while.  I mean, I will get the work done... hopefully.  It's been crazy amounts of studying, eating, and no sleep for the past week or so.  Is it bad that I am falling in love with it.  I hate the fact that I don't sleep to much, but I love the fact that I'm learning real interesting facts that are USEFUL.  Woah?!  Take two steps back... useful?  Since when have I ever found the things I'm learning to be useful.  Four years of high school didn't seem much to me.  Why can't we establish this education earlier?  That would be the way to go.  Think about it... no high school, just college.  The dream right?? Okay maybe not.  I do need some knowledge from high school.  Well... maybe some maturing to do too with a side of being a kid, but other then that it's legit.  Just some thoughts between studies....
