Ready for Fall 2008!!!!!!

Hello Everyone:

Well for most of you who do not know, I am involved in a number of organizations and one of them is Resident Assistance (RA). I really want to let you guys know what the RA’s do on campus. This is a paid position and not everyone can do it. It takes a lot of responsibility and organization. Well what I do is, I am in charge of a Hall full of residents and I am pretty much their everything and they are like my children even if they are older than me. My first semester, I was in charge of freshmen boys and trust me I really grew and learned a lot from them and they learned a lot from me as well. So if you are planning on stay on campus, you will have an RA for your dormitory as somebody you can look up to or if you need anything. I really can’t wait for the fall semester and I hope you all are excited about the fall 2008. Good luck on everything.

SPRING FLING!!

Another Fun day took place on Saturday April 12^th, 2008 and it was the Spring Fling. This event was put up by the softball students. Most of the organizations on campus set up booth to sell all kinds of foods and games. This event was open to the public and its every interesting that our president was also there having a great time. I asked him if he was having fun and he said he was and it’s a great day. He was right, it was a great day to have the Spring Fling. If you hear anything about events on UIW, don’t miss out, please join us and have a great time at the same time tour the campus.

WATERMELON BASH!!

Although we are busy with school and finals are close, we still have fun. Well we just had a watermelon bash and I am proud to say that my team got second place but I got first place in eating the watermelon. This event was put up by the lambda Chi boys on Friday April 11, 2008 at 12-5pm and it was a very successful event. It was a day full of fun and getting wet.  All the events that we have take place on campus and we had a lot of outsider who enjoyed watching the bash. We also had a lot of elementary students who had come for a visit and also have fun. College is very fun and at the same time had. 

SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER!!!

Well well well…… sorry I have not been writing. It is almost end of the semester and trust me everyone is very busy. I have been doing project, studying for test, and of course writing papers. College life is basically comprised of those things and its not that had but you just have to be organized and true to yourself. I am in a couple of organizations and they all require paper work and other organizing events. The way I handle everything is because I am very disciplined and organized.  My advice to all of you is stay organized and stay on task, do not jump from one thing to the other or you have to finish one at a time. I hope everyone is not stressed and the medicine to that is exercise and relax. Just hang in there we all have just WEEKS left to have a long break.

Take a Moment and pray!!!

This week I have been so stressed with so many things going on in my life and school. I prayed to God to help me accomplish all my tasks that I had planned on doing this weekend. Whatever you believe in please take a minute and pray cause it really makes a great difference. To day is Sunday so I am fixing to go to church and I always pray for everyone in the world. They are so many things I love about UIW and I love the fact that they welcome every Faith. On campus we have a chapel and they offer mass to the public and at night for those students who didn’t get a chance to go in the morning. For me I try to go in the morning Mass but if I don’t, I usually go at night. The night Mass begins at 8pm till 9pm. It’s very relaxing if you pray and it clears your mind for the new beginning. So I really advise you to take a moment and thank God or who ever you believe in for every breathe you take. Happy Sunday to all!!!

SCHOOL IS HARD BUT FUN!!!!

This week has been the hardest week for me. Did you know that school can be very difficult but fun!! Well we had a 80’s party sponsored by CAB-(Campus Activity Board) and we had a live band playing. There were lots of food and prizes for best dressed.  This weekend I am not doing anything at all because I have to study for my test and I have papers to write which are due this week. This semester I am on the ball and I want to work ahead OR be on top of everything. I don’t know why I did not do the same thing last semester but hey… each semester, you learn a new strategy. I hope everyone has a great weekend and please be safe.

Professors @ UIW

I love my school so much. Yesterday, I got an email from my education professor. You will not believe it, she only wanted to tell me that I did very well on the test and if I need help with my paper I can go during her office hours for her to go over it. I have never heard or seen these unique teachers who come out of their busy schedule to let you know of your grade and homework. I think it should be a student’s responsibility to follow up with the professors. They have the love for their job and it’s like we are their children and they want us to succeed and every way. So when you are looking for school, don’t just go cause your friends are there, think about the academic standards and how the classes are and who will teach you and give you the best that you need. Good luck on choosing the right school for you.

Another Win!!!

On Saturday February 23^rd, UIW played St.Mary in Basketball and we won.

The game was at St. Mary and students still showed up to show their school spirit. This game was very interesting and very fun. It was full of loud cheers and excitements. Well for those who do not know, St. Mary is our arrival school and each time we play them in any sport, students come to support the player and give them more energy to play well. If you look on our website, you will see the calendar so you may come and enjoy the games on campus or off campus. Coming to games might also give you ideas on which school you should choose and also me the students and also faculty. Trust me the teachers also go to the games to see their students play and also give them support. Please feel free to join us in any activity going on at UIW

Living on Campus!!!

Did you know that living on campus can be so popular. well guess what? we just had our room reservations for next semester and i have never seen  the rooms run out ever since i have been at UIW.  well this is how the process goes:  seniors and other students who have single room can  book their room again if they please but not freshmens now. The next day is now open for the juniors to select or choose the building they would love to leave in. if you miss your day, you have to wait until the freshmens have booked their rooms. well the sophomores  go next and then freshmens last.  Ok the funniest thing is, students do not sleep so that they can be the first ones in line. This is mainly big in freshmens because they begin lining up at 3 am in the morning. My freshmen year, i did not sleep at all because i wanted to be in the upper classmate dormitory.  we also had alot of commuters reserving rooms. what does that mean guys, its fun to stay on campus and also life becomes easier on everything.

OPEN HOUSE

I hope everyone's valentines went very well. i just wanted to update you on what has been going on Around UIW. Last Sunday we had our open house. If you do not know what Open House is, it’s basically when we open our school to anyone to visit and also see the courses that we offer and at the same time meet the teachers. If you are interested in staying on campus, we also give you the opportunity to see the dorms and talk to the students to get their intake about anything you want to know. This is also a great opportunity for the parents to see where their children will be spending most of their time. I honestly love UIW for so many reasons and I will mention a few. I love it’s because of the Professors, students, staff members, the atmosphere, the opportunity to be part of something or organization, and so many others.

          When choosing schools, you have to look at so many things that the school has and also the people around it, the beauty of it, what is it known of, what kind of education do the teachers have, are they PhD’s well almost professor at UIW have a PhD. I tell you the truth, those are the teachers you want to teach you and give you the best that they have.
